November, 2004 - The Dulles Sportsplex and Loudoun County host a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of "Fat Punks Express", a restaurant catering to Sportsplex clients. Pictured below are Rob Eisenberg, AIHI Commissioner, and John Burns, Dulles Sportsplex General Manager.  

 


 

 

October, 2004 - AIHI makes plans to offer players the opportunity to display their pride, and support the league, with helmet decals for the upcoming 2005 season.

 

 

September, 2004 - The Dulles Sportsplex installs a multi sport Ice Court. Many parents and coaches join in and volunteer their time to lay the floor tiles down in record time. Now the game play will be much faster and shots will go like a rocket.

August, 2004 - Once again AIHI receives an Official Sanctioned League certificate from USA Hockey Inline in recognition of our affiliation and dedication to the growth of amateur Inline Hockey.

 

 

July, 2004 - 17U Inferno travel team wins the gold medal at the 2004 Virginia Commonwealth Games in Roanoke, VA. In an OT win against the Williamsburg Warriors, Matt Monroe put one in the net, off a shot from Michael Wilkens, while Justin Ong put up a brilliant screen on the Warriors goalie.

July, 2004 - The 10U Mad Dogs team also wins the gold medal at the 2004 Virginia Commonwealth Games in Roanoke.

 

 

June, 2004 - 8U Inferno travel team wins the gold medal at the Triple Crown tournament at Slapshotz in Richmond, VA.

 

 

June, 2004 - Ashburn Inline Hockey is invited as a guest to the USA Hockey Annual Congress at the USA Hockey HQ in Colorado Springs, CO.

April, 2004 -  In a very hard fought, and well played game, for the first Northern Virginia HS Varsity Championship cup, a match between the AIHI HS Varsity Champion Team, Stone Bridge Bulldogs, and the PIHI  HS Varsity Champion Team, Broad Run Spartans, the score was tied 4-4 at the end of regular play. Then in a 5 min. sudden victory overtime, a puck went in the net, and the AIHI Stone Bridge Bulldogs  won the first Northern Virginia HS Varsity Championship game, and the cup!

 

February, 2004 - The Dulles Sportsplex is installing a new floor to better serve playing Inline Hockey. Installation should take 10 days, during which time the rink will be closed.

 

 

January, 2004 - At the inaugural ceremony, dedicating the first games played at the new rink, Lieutenant Commander Lee Hall unveiled a flag which flew over Baghdad, that he contributed to the league, as the Star Spangled Banner was played in recognition of the event.

January, 2004 - The Ashburn Inferno go to Susquehanna Sports Center in Lemoyne, PA for the 2nd Annual Christmas Bash. The U14 Team takes the Gold for the second year in a row! With two shutouts and a tournament total

of only 2 points against.
